Form-releasers are materials that help forms separate from hardened concrete, which are sometimes also referred to as demolding or parting agents. They prevent concrete from bonding to the form, which can mark the surface when forms are disassembled. “Traditional” form releasers such as diesel fuel, motor oil, and home heating oil are carcinogenic, limit the potential for reuse of wood form work, expose construction personnel to volatile organic compounds (and potentially occupants as well), and are proscribed by a variety of state and federal regulations, including the Clean Air Act. MorOil form release compounds provide consistent, smooth finishes, reduce health risks to construction staff and occupants, and often make it easier to apply finishes or sealants, when necessary.
